I think I p
ay $180 CAD
whenever I have to renew the license plates (registration) on my car here...insurance (as I’m part of a family plan) is like...$400 a year. If I weren’t on the family plan it would be around $700 a year, if memory serves...I renew my Driver’s License every two years for around $30.
We can carryover plates from one car to another as well....the plates are registered to the user and assigned to a car, not registered TO the car, like in the UK. The plates I had on Humdrum were the same ones I used to have on my Subaru, but I had to get them replaced as there was a known fault with plates manufactured from those model years where the paint would peel off (our plates are metal) so I got new ones under a free replacement program.

our drivers license is either 3 years or 10 years. we have a choice, but our plates are registered to the car.
